About Noah's Ark

Noah's Ark Dog Sanctuary is a rescue centre based in Mellieha. Our dedicated team of volunteers works tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs who have been abandoned, mistreated, or brought in due to changes in their owners' circumstances.

Most of our dogs are strays rescued from the streets of Malta, or surrendered by loving owners who can no longer care for them. Every dog in our care receives proper veterinary treatment, food, shelter, and most importantly — love and patience as they learn to trust again.

We are a small team that relies entirely on donations and volunteers. Every euro donated and every hour given goes directly toward giving these animals a better life.

AboutAxel is one of our permanent residents. He is a strong dog who requires a very experienced, committed owner willing to invest time, patience, and consistent training. Axel is a special case and would only be considered for adoption in the right circumstances. He currently walks only with one or two trusted volunteers, which shows he needs time to build trust and isn’t comfortable with everyone right away. Until that one special, dedicated person comes along, Axel will remain safely in our care. 🐾

He is good with other dogs and children, and with the right guidance he can build strong bonds with his people. 🏡 Ideal Home Rex needs an experienced and confident owner who can provide consistent training, leadership, and clear boundaries. He would do best in an active home where he can stay mentally and physically stimulated through exercise, structured routines, and continued training. Rex is not suited for a low-energy lifestyle and needs someone patient and committed who understands reactive dogs and is willing to help him build confidence and stability. 📝 What You Need to Know Rex is a reactive dog and will require an experienced handler who can continue working on his training and guide him correctly. He is extremely smart and eager to learn, but without structure he can become overstimulated and difficult to manage. He is good with other dogs and kids, but he is not suitable for a home with cats. Rex has huge potential in the right hands and will thrive with someone who can give him the time, patience, and training he needs to succeed.
