Visitors are welcome any day at the sanctuary from 8:00am to 11:30am—Monday to Sunday. 🗓️
🐕 Meeting Our Dogs
Everyone is welcome to meet our dogs! To ensure everyone's safety, you must be guided and accompanied by our staff before entering any pens. 🤝
✍️ Becoming a Dog-Walking Volunteer
To walk a dog, you must become a registered volunteer. Here is how it works:
Age Requirement: You must be over 18 years of age 🔞 to walk or walk with our dogs.
Commitment: You must be able to attend at least once per week to get to know the dogs' different behaviors and characters as new residents arrive. 🗓️
Training: For your first few walks, you will be accompanied by a staff member who will show you the walking route and guide you on how to properly handle our dogs. 🚶♂️🎓
Bonding: During this time, you will get to know our dogs’ unique personalities and learn how to manage them safely.
⚠️ Safety & Responsibility
Our dogs are like our children, so every walker must take full responsibility for the dog during the walk. Safety is our number one priority for both you and the dogs! ❤️
No Interaction: For safety reasons, dogs must not interact with others during walks to avoid incidents, unless you are specifically told otherwise. 🛑
Arrival: On your first visit, please wait to be assisted by a staff member, especially if you have children with you. 👨👩👧👦
Pen Safety: Do not put your fingers through the pen fences, as some dogs may be reactive. 🖐️🚫
No Personal Pets: Please do not bring your own dog to the sanctuary. This is not permitted and can be very stressful for our residents. 🚫🐕
Right of Way: Always give way to dogs entering or leaving their pens. 🐾
